My husband researched electric ATVs for a few years. TomRide was always on top of his list but we decided to buy from another company to save a few hundred dollars. Huge mistake! TomRide is FAR SUPERIOR to its limited competition.
We received the TR290 within a few days of ordering even though it was just before Christmas. The box included everything necessary to get it ready to ride. Very simple setup and clear instructions manual (again, superior to a competitor). From the moment my son got on his TR290, we were ecstatic with the product. The torque is amazing and the ride is very smooth.
My husband created a trail behind our house and the TR290 performs perfectly on uneven surfaces. I see the review below mine regarding the differential. I don’t know enough about the specs but we haven’t had any issues with our son getting stuck in off-road terrain.
Overall, the TomRide is an excellent product. We’ve experienced the competition, and I hope I can save someone from the frustration of purchasing an inferior product. Excellent customer service, too, which is of huge importance to us. We are looking forward to advances such as a lithium-ion battery pack for more ride time and less charge time.

Overall a solid product. A little shipping snafu, but still got to me in the 7 business days advertised and was well packed. I have no doubt the tr240 will be a solid little beginner machine.
The rollover bar is a great feature to eliminate concern of the ATV rolling over on young riders who get too aggressive on uneven terrain.
Build quality seems excellent and more robust than some others.
Size, this is slightly higher and longer foot rest to seat difference, perfect for 40-54 inch tall riders. I couldn't find anything with the same dimensions in the electric arena.
